Syrian Boy Continues to Make Great Progress at Texas Orthopedic Hospital

As we continue to follow the progress of 14 year old Mohammed Jammous, the young man from Syria who lost his leg last August during an explosion of a tank shell, we see smiles, lots and lots of smiles!

Mohammed now has a custom prosthesis and is presently doing his “land” and aquatic therapy within the Rehabilitation Department at Texas Orthopedic Hospital.  He works hard with Ann, his Physical Therapist who specializes in working with amputees, and Kelly, his Aquatic Therapist.

Mohammed is presently learning not just how to walk again but to jump, run, bike and swim, too.  He approaches each task with endless enthusiasm and energy.

Additionally, he will be educated on how to assemble and disassemble his prosthesis so that it can “grow” with him.  When he leaves Texas, he will return home with ample supplies, including longer inserts so as he grows in height, so will his prosthesis, as well as additional prosthetic feet.
