Patients have a right to participate in ethical issues that arise in the course of his or her care, including issues of conflict resolution, withholding resuscitative services, foregoing or withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment, and participation in investigational studies or clinical trials. Texas Orthopedic Hospital's Ethics Committee exists for the purpose of assisting in resolving issues of an ethical nature which may arise in the course of the management of patients, and setting ethical and moral guidelines for patient care.
