Joint replacement surgeon Ugo Ihekweazu, M.D., has joined the medical staff at Texas Orthopedic Hospital (TOH), an affiliate of HCA Houston Healthcare and home of Fondren Orthopedic Group. Ihekweazu began seeing patients at TOH on Sept. 10.

"I am thrilled to join the team at Texas Orthopedic Hospital,” said Ihekweazu. “Working at one of the only specialty orthopedic hospitals in the country will allow me to provide my patients with high-quality, patient-oriented services, all under one roof. The surgeons at TOH are recognized leaders in their respective fields, and my goal is to continue this long tradition of excellence in patient care.”

A native Houstonian, Ihekweazu graduated from Westbury Christian School before going on to receive his undergraduate degree from Cornell University. He obtained his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College before completing his residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Most recently, he completed fellowships at Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève in Switzerland and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

“Dr. Ihekweazu is an exceptional addition to our team,” said Eric Becker, CEO of Texas Orthopedic Hospital. “We continue to bring in premier physicians to ensure our patients receive the care they are accustomed to and deserve. I, along with our partners at Fondren Orthopedic Group, welcome Dr. Ihekweazu and his family back to Houston and look forward to the contributions he will make.”
