Shelley Rakestraw named assistant chief nursing officer at Texas Orthopedic Hospital
Houston, TX — Texas Orthopedic Hospital announced the appointment of Shelley Rakestraw, MSN, RN, ONC as assistant chief nursing officer (ACNO), effective March 10, 2024.
Joining Texas Orthopedic Hospital in 2013, Shelley’s exceptional leadership has been instrumental in achieving hospital accolades including the Unit of Distinction award, the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence award and the CMS 5-Star Rating for Quality and Patient Satisfaction. She is also the proud recipient of the Thomas Frist Award.
Shelley began her nursing career with HCA Healthcare as a new graduate nurse in 1994. With a wealth of experience gained from her tenure as a nurse in various departments, Shelley brings invaluable insight and expertise to her new role. She received her MSN in Nursing Leadership in 2023.
